Provincial capital garden city

Zhongxing New Village, formerly the seat of the Taiwan Provincial Government, carries a rich historical legacy and is known as a "Garden City." Its design, modeled after a British new town, features coconut groves, lotus ponds, lawns, and lush greenery, with each road resembling a green tunnel, creating a relaxed and leisurely atmosphere. Zhongxing New Village boasts a unique history and distinctive architecture rooted in military dependents' housing, and was once voted Taiwan's most livable village. In recent years, through the collaboration and efforts of local businesses, the "Wandering Zhongxing New Village" brand has been created. This initiative aims to connect visitors to Zhongxing New Village via short trips, allowing them to explore and experience the unique charm of the former provincial government through walking, cycling, or tandem biking.
